Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Micaeh - Certified Run Coach, Personal Trainer, and Founder of Emerge Run Coaching.

My goal is to help runners achieve their goals safely, effectively, and strategically…whether that’s making the jump from walking to running, training for your first race, tackling a new distance, chasing your newest PR, or simply learning to find joy in running.

My Educational & Fitness Background

I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2008 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. Over the years, I trained/coached in various capacities (general fitness, wellness coaching, corporate wellness, etc.) and founded Emerge Run Coaching in 2022.

Minus the time I ran track in middle school, I didn’t do much running until college. My friends and I signed up for a “triathlon challenge” where we had 3 weeks to complete the distance of an ironman - 6.2 miles of swimming, 112 miles on the bike, and 26.2 miles of running. I had so much fun and I was hooked, but running was my weakest leg. So, I chose to work on it, and truly fell in love with the sport.

What I came to love most was the challenge, the journey itself, and who I became in the process.

I learned that I am always stronger than I think I am.

I learned that “I am a runner”, but my running results would never be what truly defines me.

I learned how good it felt to keep showing up when everything inside of me told me to quit.

I knew I wanted to help others along on their running journey and that I had the background to build on to do it.

Deciding to become a run coach and work with runners (some of the best people on the planet!) is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I love helping runners discover what being a runner truly means to them and supporting them as they achieve their goals.

Outside of running, I enjoy hiking, coffee, and traveling. I just relocated to the state of Iowa (from Kansas) with my husband Chris. We have 3 kids in total (our oldest is my stepson who currently lives on his own; I homeschool our two youngest who are in 1st and 2nd grade).

Navigating the demands of motherhood, business ownership, and lofty athletic goals can be a challenge - I know what it’s like to juggle so many responsibilities and still manage to prioritize time for myself.

It takes commitment and flexibility, but it’s doable when you put your mind to it and build a strong support system. A coach can be an integral part of that system - have someone in your corner at all times, willing to walk with you through the joys, celebration, and occasional heartbreak running brings.

I’d love to connect with you and get you started on your own running journey.
